Empower Your Life!

As we near the end of the year and
prepare for the coming lunar new year, many of you are beginning to make adjustments in your
environments to benefit from the changing annual energies. I feel it is very important to remind you that empowerment is a necessary aspect of making effective feng shui adjustments.
You can make some adjustments in your house or business with plants, artwork, mirrors, crystals, or with anything in your home. If those items have not been empowered they will have only a minimal effect on you, because the intention is not there. When you empower something, you give it the energy to produce a certain result. When it is empowered by a Master, it has an even stronger energy.
When you have some items with which to make adjustments, always make sure that you purify them - especially if they are secondhand items - because you don’t know where they’ve been and what energy they’ve absorbed. Number two after purifying is making sure the items are empowered because it makes a difference in the effectiveness of the adjustment.
It is possible to empower objects yourself, if you know how to do it. If you meditate all the time and have been able to channel the cosmic and universal energies to yourself, then you can transfer that energy to certain items around you by reading a special mantra and making the accompanying mudra (hand motions). Imagine that your item is shiny with positive energy. When you invite the god or spirits to come to the item, you feel energized and your adjustments feel more reliable. Empowered items are not inanimate material, they are living and they have power.

Effectiveness of feng shui items on the energy of your house also depends on your own personal energies. Something to consider when making feng shui adjustments is your own karma. If your karma is extremely heavy, an unempowered item can help release a portion of your karma, but not necessarily all of it. An empowered item can release more of the karma.
One of the simplest ways to promote positive energy in your home is to give thanks for the food you eat. When you appreciate the food that is on your table with a simple blessing, grace, or a moment of intention-filled silence, you are actually empowering the food. The empowered food enters your body and activates your metabolism and the cleaning and healing processes that are stimulated by the nutrition.
You can apply this to everything around you. When you are cooking food for your family, you can recite a mantra and infuse the food with the power and energy of your love and care. This is empowerment in its most basic form. When you massage somebody, rub them with intention and love. With each touch of your hand you can silently intend strength, love, encouragement, and health. The person who receives a massage filled with good intentions will feel the difference and carry that positive force with them, benefiting not only themselves, but also those with whom they come in contact.
In the end, it is not one item like a crystal, an elephant, or a plant that makes good, effective feng shui. The effectiveness depends on a combination of many things, including your energy and attitude. If you put all of the elements together in a special way, it will stimulate your subconscious at a very high level.
