What is the difference between an on-site and off-site feng shui consultation?

An on-site feng shui consultation is a first hand experience by the feng shui consultant, while an off-site consult is based on second hand information provided by the client. When a feng shui consultant is on-site, he/she can gather all the pertinent information.  Also, being personally present, he/she will get a good sense of the vibrations that are in the house and on the property. She/He will receive information that a client may miss. An off-site consult is based completely on the information provided by the client. The accuracy of the floor plan, site map, the magnetic north arrow, and the clarity of the photographs the client provides will influence the accuracy of the feng shui analysis and recommendations. For the most part, clients provide efficient floor plans and photographs to allow for a good general feng shui analysis and recommendations. However, whenever possible, an on-site consultation is always preferable. Off-site consultations are usually for clients who are located abroad.  The consultation fees for an off-site consult will be less than an on-site consult.

Is the on-site consultation more effective than the off-site consultation?

Due to the personalized first hand information that a feng shui consultant can gather, an on-site consultation is usually more effective compared to an off-site consultation.

What is the difference between “Guidelines” for buying a home and a Consultation?

A personalized feng shui guideline for buying a home is based on all the birth dates of the family members who will be living in the new home. It gives the client or his/her real estate agent enough information to look for a house that is compatible to the family members. It lets the clients know what orientation the house should be in, what side of the street the house should be on, and where the main entrances, bedrooms, kitchens, and bathrooms should be located. It also provides a general list of environmental factors that should be avoided. This guideline helps the client and his/her real estate agent to rule out houses that do not match the client. Though guidelines help, an on-site feng shui consultation should be done prior to purchasing a house as often there are many aspects that one may not see without a trained eye. The general guidelines will provide you the basic criteria for a house that is compatible to the family, it does not include the recommendations of what to do in circumstances when there are negative conditions or the types of adjustments to make in the house to enhance the feng shui.

How do I prepare for a feng shui consultation?

It is best to leave your house in its natural day-to-day state so that the feng shui consultant gets a good feel of your real living environment. You need to have the birth date information (month, day, year, hour-optional) of all residents, approximate year your house was built, when you moved in and the time of the latest renovation. The feng shui consultant will gather all of the other information on site.

How long does a consultation take?

In general, a consultation takes about 2 to 3 hours for a typical 2000 sq. ft. to 3000 sq. ft. house.  For a larger home it will take longer, and for a smaller home, shorter. For a business consultation, time also varies depending how large the business is and how many employees there are.

How soon can I get an off-site analysis from the time you receive the information?

Depending on our schedule, the turnaround time will vary from 1 to 3 weeks.
