The
Chinese Almanac contains a myriad of information including what the annual cycles are and what type of cause and effects they may
have on each of us born in a particular year. This information is
known as the Zodiac, a general guideline of what the year may bring us
based on our lunar year of birth.

- The Year of the Rat
|
The
Chinese begin many preparations
to welcome the Lunar New Year - February 7, 2008. New
clothes are bought, every corner of the house is cleaned, furniture is
rearranged, special foods are made, and the Lunar Almanac is consulted.
It
is important to note that the zodiac readings are general interpretations
from the Chinese Almanac or Tong Shu.
There are over 130 factors that influence our
life’s energies and a personal consultation provides more accurate
details pertaining to individual circumstances.
Why
are the ages in the zodiac one year more than your actual age?
The
zodiac age is based on the lunar calendar and it takes less than a year
for the moon to rotate around the earth. Thus, in lunar years, we
are usually one year older. In addition, from conception we are all,
in reality, 9 months or almost 1 year old when we are born.

Rat
1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008
The
Prepared Rat is One Step Ahead of Trouble
 Rat
persons undergo their year of challenge or “tai shui” in 2008.
With many turns in the road ahead this year, it is a year to
stay as stable as you can. Rat persons need to take extra precautions in their safety,
demeanor and financial activity.
You should minimize traveling abroad and postpone moving to a
new home. If you must travel, be aware of your surroundings and
avoid negative places such as churches, temples, cemeteries, caves
or construction sites. Drive
carefully.
When it comes to business, count your
blessings and do not be greedy.
This is the year to really be grateful for all that you have.
Knowing how to appreciate those around you will keep
troublemakers at bay. It
is not the year to take risks or start a new business, as this may
come with unexpected expenses or legal issues.
Take care to minimize or avoid business transactions and
dealings with those born in the Horse, Rooster and Rabbit years.

home, if you are married, be sensitive to tensions with your spouse. It may be easy to get into arguments and have
misunderstandings. Resolve

They will be showered with happiness and blessings.
Good feng shui brings many new clients abroad. At home, Ox families may welcome a new addition. This brings
great pride and celebration. If
Ox persons have bad feng shui, they need to be careful of unexpected
expenses such as theft or accident.
Be sure to make appropriate adjustments!
Either way, young female Ox persons need to exercise caution
in business transactions and love relationships to avoid being taken
advantage of, especially if they are dealing with Dragon or Dog
persons. Elderly Ox
persons do best to exercise regularly and eat an abundance of fruits
and vegetables.

Tiger

This year, they may feel a bit overcrowded by the neediness
of social and personal relationships.
In the workplace, Tiger persons need to be sensitive to
others and avoid getting involved in gossip, or they may find their
name circulating among the rumors as well. Tigers do well to exercise calmness and detachment this year.
