Liu Feng Shui Grand View is a philosophy defining 130 factors that affect who you are. This is the twentieth article in a series presenting all 130 factors. Please refer to the first article for a complete introduction to this series. Today we will discuss Habits.

Extinguished Cigarette ButtHabits are regularly repeated behaviors that if repeated enough, resemble involuntary subconscious actions that can become compulsive.

Habits can be productive or destructive. If a habit is positive or harmless, there is little need for concern. However, detrimental habits that affect a person’s self-esteem, image, and health deter their ability to reach goals. Procrastination, compulsive scratching, nail chewing, overeating, smoking, drinking, gambling, drug abuse, child abuse, and sexual abuse are harmful habits that should be eliminated because they prevent both the individual and the whole of society from progressing.

A habit often originates as a response to stress, anxiety, repressed personality traits, or unfulfilled desires. If not taken care of, fears and repressed feelings eventually manifest as habitual physical behaviors. It is important to get to the bottom of what is causing a destructive habit. Addressing the underlying issue allows you to control or eliminate it, opening your life up to productive possibilities.
