Martha and Tim have been in the construction business for over twenty years.  Three years ago, they moved into a new office and business continued to grow, however, so did their problems.  Money comes in but they do not know where it all goes and like any business, they want to do better.

Three-person business teamAlthough Martha and Tim are the business owners, it is their manager, Becky, who appears to run the bulk of the business.  Martha and Becky are Eastern Direction Pattern and do best in the east, southeast, south, and north directions; while Tim is Western Direction Pattern and does best in the west, northwest, northeast, and southwest directions.

The office sits on an east/west axis facing west.  The main door is located in the southwest direction.  Because the building "sits" east, its energy is better synchronized to promote Becky and Martha.  Becky and Martha are respectively located in the north and south sides of the office, also good directions for them.

The north is dominantly strong for leadership and prosperity.  Whoever sits there tends to absorb the energies to become the leader of the business.  Consequently, Becky is the true leader in this office and the business depends on her whether she likes it or not. Lately, Becky’s health has become unstable.

Martha and Tim both agree that Becky plays a major role in the business' well-being. Although they come in to check on the status and progress of projects, the life source of the business rests on Becky's shoulders.  Martha and Tim are both happy with Becky in this position, but because Becky does handle the majority of the responsibility, extra special attention must be paid to her feng shui.

Becky's office door is directly aligned to the toilet across the hall. This negative energy directed at her can affect her health.  The north energy (where her office is located) is associated with the mind, head, kidneys, and sex.  This means that Becky is vulnerable to health issues in these areas.  Martha gasped when I mentioned this.  She explains that Becky's troubled personal life and migraine headaches reflect this is true.

Becky is also born in the year of the Snake.  In general, Snakes have the ability to bring in a lot of money.  This is especially true if the feng shui is good for them.  I caution that because Snakes are usually highly sensitive people who possess psychic abilities, they tend to be more susceptible to stress.  Although Becky's office is in the right direction, she should reorient her desk so that the office door is to her left.  The left hand side is associated with yang, light, or generative energy flow, which promotes progress.  Having the door to her right hand side, which is associated with yin, dark, or negative energies, can provoke conflicts and arguments with others.

Though Becky runs the business, Martha and Tim are the owners overseeing the output, so their feng shui is equally important.  Martha's desk is located in the south and is aligned with the main door, which is further aligned with the office door across the street.  Doors are the mouths of buildings, so this alignment is like a mouth facing a mouth. This arrangement can induce confrontation with others.  Martha reveals that she frequently gets into conflicts with others and that she is not happy in the office.

Tim's desk is located in the southeast corner with the hallway behind him and the southeast door to his right.  The energies here are very unstable.  He might feel unmotivated and the need to escape from work.  He can be easily distracted and unfocused and could be vulnerable to stomach, arm, and leg problems.  It is difficult to be an effective business owner in this location.

Tim smiles and tells me that he recently tore a ligament in his leg and had to wear a cast.  He also admits that he only comes into the office for part of the day.  He is mainly in the field and tries to get away as often as he can.  Although business is good, he is stressed and health problems prevent him from enjoying his business' success.  He is also not comfortable depending so much on Becky, especially now that her health is weaker.

I recommend that they use a ba-gua mirror on the outside of the office above the door to deflect the negative energy of the confronting door across the street.  They can also use a partition between the front door and Martha's desk to offset the alignment and the energy of argument.

Tim should sit in the northwest corner at the front of the office to absorb positive, compatible energies.  Here, Tim will be more productive and better able to contribute his energies as a boss to growing the business.  With both Tim and Becky in the most optimal locations, it will be hard for them not to do better.  Aside from increasing their income, I emphasize the importance of achieving a balance with health.  After all, what's the point of making all the money just to pay hospital bills?
